Jean-Marc Gauthier is an architect involved in virtual worlds since 1992, when he created The Liquid Map a real-time mapping simulator for decision makers. JMG creates virtual spaces installations inside museums and a low cost displays for educational purpose such as the Dynamic Virtual Person and the Aphrodisias project. JMG designs Nightwhawks, an urban installations allowing viewers to interact with virtual spaces displayed on buildings. JMG’s installations are presented at Chelsea art Museum (NYC), American Museum of Moving Image (Queens), MIT’s Conference on Design Computing and Cognition, Festival 1ier Contact (Issy-les-Moulineaux), Siggraph and Villette-Numerique (Paris). By creating physical devices that serve as an interfaces for computing, Mark has been able to explore the spaces where humans and technology connect. He has worked with aspects of file sharing, mobile communication, wireless networks and wearable computing. His work has exhibited in places from California (SIGGRAPH’03) to Japan (New Interfaces for Musical Expression, 2004), and has been featured in major technology magazines such as Wired (May 2004) and Linux Journal (Sept 2003). Mark recently received his Masters Degree from ITP Tisch School of the Arts, New York University. argobot.com Daniel Hirschmann is an artist, technology enthusiast and dreamer. Fresh off NYU’s I T P, he continues to explore his creativity by making art objects with embedded microcomputers. Growing up in the ever changing environment of South Africa has heavily influenced his style and ideas. He is passionate about building and is currently focussed on developing interactive light sculptures. His work has been shown at art exhibitions in South Africa, New York, and most recently at the Ubiquitous Computing Conference in Nottingham 2004. plankman.com Ann Poochareon is an artist, writer, performer, and programmer interested in creating art using technology and electronics. Her works take various forms, ranging from websites, videos, interactive installations, to stage performances. Ann has created and been involved in theater performances in both Chicago and New York, some of her other works have been exhibited at SIGGRAPH San Diego (2003), Spiral Independent Creator Festival in Tokyo, Japan (2004), and Designing Interactive Systems Conference in Boston (2004), amongst other. She is the co-founder/producer of Hello Kitty is Dead Productions, and a member of Mango Tribe, an Asian American women’s performing arts collective.
